Brady Jr. Potty Trained
Breaking news! New England Patriots QB Tom Brady’s 6 month old son is now potty trained. According to the Boston Herald, wife Gisele is excited.

As I read the article, (why I read the article, I’m not sure) something struck me as odd. Mrs. Brady is the United Nations goodwill ambassador for the environment, and according to the article, Bundchen sped up the toilet training for the good of the environment. “Diapers pollute the environment. Where does this garbage go?” asks the model.
Now she’s worried about the environment? What about this? I believe that might leave just a bit larger carbon footprint than a garbage can full of Pampers.
Brady doesn’t dig 18 games

New England Patriot’s quarterback Tom Brady doesn’t like the idea of an 18 game regular NFL season. Quoted on the NFLPA website Brady had this to say about the possibility of what the NFL is calling an enhanced season.
Tom Brady:
“I’ve taken part in several postseason runs where we have played 20 games. The long-term impact this game has on our bodies is well documented. Look no further than the players that came before we did. Each player today has to play three years in order to earn five years of post-career health care. Our Union has done a great job of raising the awareness on these issues and will make the right decision for us players, the game and the fans.”
There is no doubt that the Players Union is going to resist the idea of an expanded season, especially when the unions website has a lockout counter on their site. Quite frankly, I can’t imagine that Roger Goodell would even raise this option with so many serious issues surrounding the possibility of no football in 2011.
If the players and owners agree to a new CBA there must be a provision for an expanded season which allows the teams to increase their rosters from the current 53 man limit. You would think that would be something the players union would be in favor of.
Bill Belichick scouting more than opposing defenses
[picappgallerysingle id="2626841"]New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick attended the Lakers/Celtics game with his new gal pal, Linda Holliday and guess what? She was sporting a ring which would rival any of the Patriots Super Bowl hardware. Holliday claims that the ring spotted during the Celtics games was an old one and her and Bill are happy just hanging out. You can scout out the rock and the chick right here.
How is Welker back so soon?
New England Patriots receiver Wes Welker was back on the field with the Pats for team OTA’s this week. Many skeptics, including myself thought that Welker would be no where around his current level of participation at this point.
Albert Breer of Boston.com writes a very interesting piece on the similarities and differences of the knee surgeries which both QB Tom Brady and Welker underwent.

Welker’s unexpected participation in OTA’s has Patriots fans overflowing with optimism, but temper those positive thoughts for right now. From Breer’s column, “A 2006 study by the American Journal of Sports Medicine showed that 79 percent of NFL running backs and receivers undergoing ACL surgery from 1998-2002 were able to return to the field. But the players who did return performed at just 66 percent of the level they performed at prior at pre-injury, on average.”
A healthy Welker will be one of the keys to the Patriots on field success in 2010.
Brady-No Contract. No Problem, Wife’s working
New England Patriots superstar QB Tom Brady is entering the final year of his contract and it appears that talks have not begun on a new one. Brady has declined comment to reporters regarding the current situation and many questions surfaced this summer about Brady’s focus.
Brady has spent most of his time in California with his wife and children overseeing the construction of his 22,000 square foot house. Even the house has caused some controversy as Brady’s wife Gisele is the Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Program.

There is no doubt that Brady will eventually sign another contract with the Patriots but just incase, Tom’s wife just signed a mega contract with Brazilian lingerie company Hope. So it appears we’ll be seeing more of her, which is always a good thing.
